Hootsuite Pricing 2026: Plans, Per-User Costs and an Honest Review

Hootsuite pricing in 2026 is per user: Standard costs $99, Professional $199 and Advanced $399 per user per month when billed annually, and Enterprise is a custom quote. The plans page lists no free plan, only a 14-day free trial that needs no credit card. Because every plan is sold per seat, the bill scales with headcount: three people on Advanced come to $1,197 a month, or $14,364 a year.

We checked Hootsuite's plans page on October 19, 2026, and every price and limit below comes from it. If you are still comparing tools before you pay, see our Hootsuite alternatives guide. This page sticks to what Hootsuite costs, what each plan includes, where the cost grows and whether it is worth it.

How Much Does Hootsuite Cost?

Hootsuite sells four plans in US dollars. Three of them have a public price per user per month, shown on the page as the annual rate. Enterprise is quoted through a sales conversation.

Advanced$399$4,788Unlimited1+Approvals, internal comments, message assignment
EnterpriseCustomCustomUnlimitedCustomSSO, advanced listening, compliance, employee advocacy

Prices checked October 2026. In USD, per user, billed annually, excluding applicable taxes. The yearly column is the monthly figure times 12.

Standard ($99 per user per month): the entry plan

Standard is described as managing up to 10 social media accounts from one calendar. The plans page lists unlimited scheduled posts (with the trial footnote noted below), AI that generates posts and images, one inbox for replying to messages, and monitoring of your brand and competitors. Hootsuite's FAQ adds content planning, analytics and reporting, and competitive benchmarking against up to five competitors.

It fits a single social manager or a small team with a handful of accounts. The 10-account cap is the limit to watch: once you pass 10 connected profiles you need Professional, which adds $100 per user per month.

Professional ($199 per user per month): unlimited accounts and automation

Professional is marked "Most popular" on the page. It lifts the account cap to unlimited and adds automation: automated inbox replies and workflows, automatic link shortening and tracking, and automatic boosting of top-performing posts. On the insight side it adds custom performance reports, benchmarking against up to 20 competitors, a 30-day Quick Search in listening, and AI forecasts of social trends up to 90 days ahead.

It fits teams with many accounts or heavy inbox volume. Hootsuite also notes that some features need multiple user seats, so check which ones before you assume a single seat is enough.

Advanced ($399 per user per month): where teamwork starts

Advanced is described as the plan for streamlining approvals and co-working across teams. This is where Hootsuite lists content approval workflows, internal comments, collaboration on content and the option to suspend scheduled posts. It also adds customer care tools: assigning messages to teammates, skill-based routing, customer satisfaction surveys and team productivity tracking, plus more advanced report exports with your own logo.

It fits organizations where more than one person touches a post and someone has to sign it off. It also costs about four times Standard per seat ($399 against $99).

Enterprise (custom quote): governance, security and advocacy

Enterprise is quoted after a demo request. Hootsuite lists single sign-on, custom compliance solutions and integrations, advanced listening with 13 months of historical data and brand review monitoring, advanced attribution and ROI reporting, a Salesforce integration, expert-led onboarding and Parliament, its employee advocacy tool. We cannot give an Enterprise price, because Hootsuite does not publish one.

Monthly vs annual billing

The prices on the plans page are annual rates. Hootsuite's FAQ says monthly billing exists for Standard, Professional and Advanced and that annual billing gives a lower per-user monthly rate. The page does not show the monthly-billing prices, so we will not guess them.

Hidden Costs and Limits to Check

The sticker price is only part of what you pay. These are the points that move the bill.

  • Seats multiply everything. Each team member who needs access needs a seat, so a "$199 plan" is a $199 plan for one person.
  • Approvals sit on the third tier. If your team needs approval workflows, internal comments or the ability to suspend scheduled posts, Hootsuite lists them under Advanced. Teams that want sign-off on every post therefore start at $399 per user per month.
  • The 10-account cap on Standard. Hootsuite defines a social account as a profile on a network, such as an Instagram account, a personal X account or a Facebook Page. Agencies and multi-profile teams reach 10 faster than they expect. The plans page does not spell out how LinkedIn personal profiles and company pages are counted, so confirm that with Hootsuite before you size a plan.
  • Annual billing, USD and tax. The headline rate assumes annual billing. Prices are shown in US dollars and do not include applicable taxes.
  • Add-ons. The feature comparison on the plans page has an "Add-ons" section. Some reviewers report that products such as listening and employee advocacy tools cost extra and need a sales conversation. We could not confirm prices from Hootsuite's own page, so ask before you assume everything is in the plan.
  • Some features need multiple seats. Hootsuite says so in its Standard versus Professional answer, so a one-seat purchase may not unlock everything.
  • AI limits. Hootsuite says every plan runs on Wisdom, its AI teammate, that drafts, recommends and analyzes. The comparison table has a Wisdom AI section, described as an in-app assistant and MCP connectors. The page shows no credit caps, and we are not going to invent any.

What Does Hootsuite Really Cost for Your Situation?

Plans are per user, so the math is seats times the per-user rate. The table assumes every seat is on the same plan, since the page does not say whether you can mix plans in one account. All figures are billed annually and exclude tax.

TeamPlanCalculationPer monthPer year
1 userStandard1 x $99$99$1,188
1 userProfessional1 x $199$199$2,388
3 usersStandard3 x $99$297$3,564
3 usersProfessional3 x $199$597$7,164
3 usersAdvanced3 x $399$1,197$14,364
5 usersProfessional5 x $199$995$11,940
5 usersAdvanced5 x $399$1,995$23,940
10 usersAdvanced10 x $399$3,990$47,880

Here is how that plays out for real buyers.

  • Solo founder with a few accounts: Standard, $99 a month or $1,188 a year, as long as you stay within 10 social accounts.
  • Three-person marketing team that wants approvals: Advanced for all three seats, 3 x $399 = $1,197 a month, or $14,364 a year. If you can live without approvals, three Professional seats are 3 x $199 = $597 a month, $7,164 a year.
  • Agency with five account managers who need sign-off: Advanced for five seats, 5 x $399 = $1,995 a month, $23,940 a year. That covers the team's seats. Whether an outside client reviewer needs a paid seat to approve posts is not stated on the plans page, so ask before you plan your client workflow.
  • A company with ten people touching social: Ten Advanced seats are 10 x $399 = $3,990 a month, $47,880 a year. At this size, ask about Enterprise, where pricing is custom and where SSO and governance come in.

Moving from Standard to Advanced adds $300 per user per month, and every extra person repeats that step. Plan the seat count first, then the tier.

Is Hootsuite Free? Trial, Billing and Payment

Hootsuite's plans page lists no permanent free plan. There is a free trial, and the terms are clear.

  1. 14 days free. The trial is available on Standard, Professional and Advanced. Some older third-party articles quote other trial lengths, but Hootsuite's own page says 14 days.
  2. No credit card required. The FAQ says you can start without a card.
  3. No automatic charge. When the trial ends you are not billed. To continue, you choose a paid plan and enter your payment information.
  4. Trial limits. Trial accounts have daily posting limits of 10 to 20 posts per organization, depending on plan, and bulk scheduling is not available during the trial.

The posting cap matters if you want to test real volume. For payment, Hootsuite accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, JCB and PayPal, and the annual Enterprise plan can be invoiced and paid by credit card, check, wire or ACH. The page also mentions a discounted rate for nonprofits on some plans.

Hootsuite Pricing for Teams and Agencies

Hootsuite is built for teams: seats start at one on every plan and you add as many as you need. For a LinkedIn-first team or an agency, three questions decide the cost: how many people need a seat (everyone who creates, edits or approves), whether you need approvals (Advanced, $399 per user per month) and whether you manage more than 10 social accounts (Professional or above).

Agencies sit at the harder end of this math. Each additional account manager is another seat on the same per-user rate. The plans page lists departmental organization on every plan but does not describe separate client workspaces with their own brand settings. If client separation matters to you, ask Hootsuite how it handles it.

Hootsuite Review: What It Does Well

Hootsuite markets itself as Hootsuite Social OS, a suite of products: Perch for content creation, planning and publishing, Nest for the social inbox and customer care, Lumen for insights and listening, Wisdom for AI and Parliament for employee advocacy.

  • Breadth in one place. Scheduling, a unified inbox, analytics, competitor benchmarking and listening sit in the same tool. If you run several networks and a community team, that consolidation is the point of Hootsuite.
  • A real social inbox. Every plan lets you respond to messages from one inbox, and Professional and Advanced add automation, assignment and skill-based routing. That is customer care tooling, which most scheduling tools do not offer.
  • Listening. Standard monitors your brand and competitors, Professional adds Quick Search and 90-day trend forecasts, and Enterprise adds advanced listening with 13 months of history.
  • Governance at the top. SSO, custom compliance and expert onboarding on Enterprise suit large organizations.
  • An easy trial. 14 days, no card, no automatic charge.

Hootsuite Review: Where It Falls Short

  • Cost scales per person. The rate is per user, so a team pays the plan price once per seat. For teams of three or more, the annual total rises quickly.
  • Approvals are on the third tier. Content approval workflows, internal comments and suspending scheduled posts are listed under Advanced. Teams that need sign-off start at $399 per user per month.
  • A 10-account cap on the entry plan. Standard stops at 10 social accounts.
  • Generic multi-network AI. Wisdom is built to serve every network on the platform. The plans page does not describe a knowledge base or per-person writing styles, which is what keeps a founder's posts sounding like that founder. Treat that as a question to test in the trial, not a verdict.
  • Not LinkedIn-first. LinkedIn is one network among many. The plans page says nothing LinkedIn specific, such as personal profile versus company page handling, so LinkedIn-first teams should verify what they need.
  • The trial is capped. Daily posting limits and no bulk scheduling limit how far you can stress-test a workflow.
  • Enterprise is opaque. There is no public Enterprise price, and some reviewers report extras such as training fees. Treat those as questions to ask, not confirmed costs.

Is Hootsuite Worth the Money in 2026?

It depends on who you are.

  • Brand or community team on many networks: Worth it. If you need a shared inbox, customer care, listening and scheduling across networks, Hootsuite is built for that job and the per-seat price buys real breadth. Professional is the plan to evaluate.
  • Large organization with governance needs: Talk to sales about Enterprise. SSO, compliance, advanced listening and Parliament for employee advocacy are what that tier adds.
  • Solo founder or small LinkedIn-first team: Harder to justify. Standard at $99 per user per month ($1,188 a year) works for scheduling and a basic inbox, but you pay for network and listening breadth you may never use.
  • Three-person B2B team that wants approvals: The math is $14,364 a year on Advanced. Ask yourself how much of that suite you will actually use, and test whether the AI can write in each person's voice.
  • Agency: Price your seats first. Five account managers on Advanced is $23,940 a year, and you still need to confirm how client review and client separation work.

Run the 14-day trial like a test. Connect the accounts you really manage, schedule real posts within the daily cap, try the inbox, and note which plan each feature you rely on sits in.

What to Compare Before You Switch Tools

Many people search "what is cheaper than Hootsuite". A lower sticker price only helps if the tool does the job. Compare on these points:

  1. How it charges. Per seat, per profile or per workspace behave very differently once your team grows.
  2. Which networks you publish to. If you need one or two, you are paying for breadth you do not use.
  3. Where approvals start. Check the plan, not the feature list.
  4. Inbox, listening and customer care. A pure scheduler will not replace them.
  5. How the AI is set up. Does it write in each person's voice from their own material, or generic copy for any network?

Our Hootsuite alternatives guide works through the options by use case, and the Postiv vs Hootsuite side-by-side covers how the two compare feature by feature.

When Postiv Is the Better Fit

Hootsuite is the pick for teams that need many networks, a unified inbox, listening and customer care. Postiv is built for a narrower job: LinkedIn-first B2B teams, founders and agencies that need content created in each person's own voice, with the workflow around it. LinkedIn comes first, with X as a second channel.

  • Writing in each person's voice. Bob, Postiv's AI content partner, plans the posting week with one idea per slot, tied to your content pillars, your sources and last week's results. It drafts posts and carousels in each LinkedIn profile's own writing style, using a knowledge base built from your website, documents, YouTube, Notion and newsletters.
  • Content creation built in. Posts, carousels, images and infographics on your brand, with an editor, so there is no round trip to a design tool. Everything lands on one calendar through the LinkedIn post scheduler, with posting slots and an automatic first comment.
  • Client workspaces and approval links. Each client gets a separate workspace with its own profiles, company pages, brand kit and writing styles. Clients review each post as it will look on LinkedIn through an approval link, with no Postiv account needed. See client workspaces for agencies.
  • Team management. Every profile and company page lives in one workspace, with roles, approvers per profile and a Team Hub. See team management.
  • Engagement and analytics. Every comment on every profile in one inbox, a feed of people you want to reach so you can comment on their posts, and reach, engagement and follower analytics per post and per profile.
  • Official API, no automation tricks. Postiv publishes to personal profiles and company pages through LinkedIn's official API. There is no Chrome extension, no browser automation and no automated connection requests or DMs.
  • MCP and API. A hosted LinkedIn MCP server works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code, and there is a public REST API.

More Questions

Is Hootsuite free or paid?

Hootsuite's plans page lists no permanent free plan. You can start a 14-day free trial on Standard, Professional or Advanced without a credit card, and you are not charged automatically when it ends. Trial accounts have daily posting limits of 10 to 20 posts per organization, depending on plan, and no bulk scheduling.

Does the Hootsuite free trial need a credit card?

No. Hootsuite's plans page says you can start the 14-day trial without a credit card and that you will not be charged automatically at the end. To keep using Hootsuite you choose a paid plan and enter payment details yourself.

Is Hootsuite priced per user or per account?

Per user. Hootsuite plans are sold per user, also called a seat, and every plan starts at one seat. You buy a seat for each team member who needs access. Social accounts are a separate limit: Standard allows up to 10, while Professional and Advanced allow unlimited social accounts.

Which Hootsuite plan has approval workflows?

Approval workflows, internal comments and the option to suspend scheduled posts are listed with the Advanced plan, which is $399 per user per month billed annually. Standard and Professional do not include them. Enterprise builds on Advanced.

Can I pay for Hootsuite monthly instead of annually?

Yes. Hootsuite's plans page says monthly and annual billing both exist for Standard, Professional and Advanced, and that annual billing gives a lower per-user monthly rate. The prices shown on the page are the annual rates. We do not state a monthly-billing price because the page does not show one.
