Metricool Review 2026: Pricing, Pros, Cons and Who It's For

Metricool is a good multi-network scheduler and analytics tool for small agencies and brand managers, and a weaker fit if LinkedIn is your main channel. The Free plan has no LinkedIn at all, the LinkedIn connection starts on Starter at $20 a month billed annually for up to 5 brands, and post approvals only arrive on Advanced, from $53 a month billed annually for up to 15 brands.

We checked Metricool's pricing page on October 19, 2026, and every price and limit below comes from it. All prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT. If you are comparing reporting tools more broadly, see the social media analytics tools we compared. This page answers a narrower question: what does Metricool cost, what do you get at each level, and who is it for?

How Much Does Metricool Cost Per Month?

Metricool prices by the number of brands you manage. A brand is a business, a brand or a client, and under each brand you connect one profile per social network. Annual billing saves up to 24% against monthly billing.

The annual discount is not the same on every tier. Starter saves 20% on both brand tiers ($20 against $25, and $36 against $45). Advanced saves about 21% at 15 and 25 brands and about 24% at 50 brands ($159 against $210). The "up to 24%" headline is the 50-brand tier.

Free plan ($0): one brand, no LinkedIn

The Free plan covers 1 brand and every network except LinkedIn and Twitter/X. You can schedule up to 20 posts a month, analyze 5 competitor profiles, see 30 days of analytics and use the AI social media assistant with 5 AI credits per brand per month. The Metricool MCP is listed on Free with a "limits may apply" note.

It is a fair way to learn the interface. It is not a way to test LinkedIn publishing, because LinkedIn is the first thing missing.

Starter ($20 a month for 5 brands, $36 for 10): where LinkedIn starts

Starter is the first plan with a LinkedIn connection. It also removes the 20-post cap (publishing is listed as unlimited, subject to Metricool's fair use policy), raises competitor analysis to 100 profiles, and adds PDF and PPT reports, unlimited analytics history, multiple link-in-bio pages, Flows, and Google Drive and Canva integrations. AI credits go from 5 to 20 per brand per month.

Starter does not include team members, post approvals or the API. That matters for agencies, because on Starter the account is effectively yours alone.

Advanced ($53 a month for 15 brands, $85 for 25, $159 for 50): approvals and clients

Advanced is the agency plan. On top of Starter it adds team and client management, role management, the post approval system, complete X analytics (which still needs the paid X add-on), customizable report templates, the Data Studio connector and the Metricool API for Zapier and Make. Team members are listed as unlimited, and the pricing FAQ says you can give clients or team members access to a single brand without exposing the others. AI credits rise to 35 per brand per month, and recurring scheduling is included.

The price steps on Advanced are driven by brand count, not by a seat count. Any agency with more than 10 brands has to be on this plan or Custom, because Starter stops at 10.

Custom (contact sales): white label and an account manager

Custom is quote-based. It lists a custom number of brands, white label, a dedicated account manager, custom AI assistant credits and integration into your own business. The pricing page publishes no numbers for it.

Is Metricool Actually Free?

Yes, with limits. The pricing FAQ says you can use Metricool for free, forever, with 1 brand and one profile per network. In practice the free plan stops you in four places:

  1. No LinkedIn and no X. Both are excluded.
  2. 20 scheduled posts per month. Enough for a hobby account, not for a daily poster.
  3. 30 days of analytics. The unlimited history starts on Starter.
  4. Thin AI. 5 credits per brand per month.

If you cancel a paid plan, Metricool says you keep it until the end of the billing cycle and then the account becomes free. Downgrades also take effect at the end of the current billing period, and upgrades deduct the unused part of the old plan. We did not find a free trial of paid features on the pricing page, so check the signup screen for one.

Hidden Costs and Limits

The plan price is only part of the bill. These are the items worth checking before you commit.

  • Brands are the unit. Each brand holds one profile per network, so a second LinkedIn connection means a second brand. Count brands, not clients.
  • X is a paid add-on. The Starter and Advanced plans give you access to the X add-on, but X is billed on top of the plan at $10 a month per connected X account. Complete X analytics starts on Advanced and needs that add-on.
  • Advanced Analytics is a paid add-on. It starts at $12 a month on Starter and at $36 a month on Advanced. Advanced includes it for the first 15 days, after which you extend it with the add-on. Unlimited campaign dashboards and Metricool Studio sit behind it too.
  • Hashtag Tracker is billed per day. Tracking a hashtag on X or Instagram costs $25 a day, separate from any plan.
  • Hashtag Tracker is priced per day. It is a separate product from the monthly plans, so it will not show up in a plan-to-plan comparison.
  • Flows is free for a limited time. The Flows rows on the pricing page say "no extra cost for a limited time", so check whether it is still free when you sign up.
  • Fair use on publishing. "Unlimited" scheduling may be limited by Metricool's fair use policy.
  • VAT. The listed prices exclude VAT, which is calculated before you sign.
  • The Metricool MCP has limits on lower plans. The comparison table says limits may apply on Free and Starter, and shows it without that note on Advanced and Custom.

What Does Metricool Cost for Your Situation?

Here is the arithmetic for five real buyers, using annual billing unless noted. We assume each client or person is one brand.

  • Freelancer with 3 client brands. Starter, up to 5 brands: $20 a month x 12 = $240 a year. Billed monthly it would be $25 x 12 = $300, so annual billing saves $60.
  • Five-person company where each person's LinkedIn is its own brand. Starter, up to 5 brands: $20 x 12 = $240 a year. You get the LinkedIn connection, but no team members and no approvals. If you want a sixth brand you move to the 10-brand tier at $36 a month ($432 a year).
  • Small agency with 8 clients that wants approvals. Starter's 10-brand tier would be $36 x 12 = $432 a year, but it has no approvals. Advanced's 15-brand tier is $53 x 12 = $636 a year. Approvals therefore cost $53 - $36 = $17 more a month, or $204 a year.
  • Agency with 12 clients. Twelve brands is over Starter's 10-brand cap, so this is Advanced at the 15-brand tier: $53 x 12 = $636 a year. Billed monthly it would be $67 x 12 = $804, so annual billing saves $168.
  • Agency with 20 clients. Advanced, up to 25 brands: $85 x 12 = $1,020 a year, or $107 x 12 = $1,284 billed monthly.
  • Agency with 40 clients. Advanced, up to 50 brands: $159 x 12 = $1,908 a year, or $210 x 12 = $2,520 billed monthly.

These totals are before VAT and before any X or Advanced Analytics add-on. If you publish to X, add $10 a month per X account; Advanced Analytics adds from $12 a month on Starter or $36 on Advanced.

Metricool for Teams and Agencies

Metricool is built with agencies in mind, and the pricing shows it. Advanced adds team and client management, role management, unlimited team members and a post approval system, and the Custom plan adds white label. The per-brand access setting means a client can see their brand without seeing your other clients, and the Data Studio connector lets you combine several brands into one report.

If you run an agency, ask three questions before you buy. Does your client need a Metricool account to approve a post? How does an approver see the post as it will look on LinkedIn? And which of your clients need a LinkedIn connection, since that is a Starter-or-higher feature and every connection uses up a brand?

Does Metricool Work for LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is the part of Metricool to examine carefully if you came here for a LinkedIn tool.

What the pricing page tells us: the Free plan excludes LinkedIn, and the LinkedIn connection starts on Starter. The planner table lists scheduling PDFs and polls for LinkedIn from Starter, and best times to post lists LinkedIn. The inbox table lists LinkedIn from Starter as well.

What it does not tell us: which kinds of LinkedIn accounts connect and what each can do. Ask Metricool before you pay if you need a personal profile, a company page or both, and test the specific features you need in a paid month.

For a LinkedIn-first team, the practical read is this: Metricool treats LinkedIn as one network among a dozen, and the approval workflow that agencies need sits on the more expensive plan.

Metricool Review: What It Does Well

  • Many networks in one place. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Twitch, Bluesky, Google Business Profile and more sit under one brand.
  • Analytics and reporting depth. Unlimited history from Starter, PDF and PPT reports, scheduled reporting, custom report templates, a Data Studio connector and a competitor view across several networks. This is the strongest part of the product.
  • A real free plan. One brand with scheduling, a competitor view and an AI assistant, with no time limit.
  • Brand-based pricing is predictable. You pay for tiers of brands, not per seat, and Advanced lists unlimited team members.
  • Automation hooks. Zapier, Make and an API on Advanced, plus its own MCP server that connects the tool to AI assistants.
  • Clear price steps. Once you know your brand count, the plan is obvious.

Metricool Review: Where It Falls Short

  • LinkedIn is gated. None on Free, and approvals only on Advanced. A solo LinkedIn creator pays for a multi-network suite to use one network.
  • Brands add up. A person with a personal and a second LinkedIn presence consumes more than one brand, because each brand holds one profile per network.
  • Add-ons sit outside the plan price. X, Advanced Analytics and the Hashtag Tracker are billed separately.
  • No content-creation workflow is described. The pricing page lists an AI assistant, an image and video editor and a Canva integration. It does not describe a knowledge base, a per-person writing style or a carousel or infographic builder, so if drafting in someone's voice is the job, test that in the trial.
  • Lower plans have no team seats. Starter lists no team members, so collaborating on a client brand means upgrading.
  • Reliability reports. See the next section.

Is Metricool Trustworthy? What Reviewers Report

Metricool is an established product with a long customer list on its own site, and it is part of the team.blue group. Those are vendor statements. For independent signals, look at recent reviews on public review sites.

We have not independently tested Metricool's scheduling, so this section reports patterns, not facts. Some reviewers on public review sites say scheduled posts were marked published but did not appear on the network, and that connections to social accounts expired and needed to be reconnected. Others describe the cost of additional brands and strict auto-renewal. Metricool replies to some of these reviews, so read both sides and check the date.

Our advice is practical. Schedule a few real posts on a low-risk brand, confirm on the network that they went live, and set a calendar reminder for your renewal date. If you manage clients, build a habit of checking that the day's posts actually published.

Is Metricool Worth It in 2026?

It depends on who is buying.

  • Solo creator on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook: Worth trying on the Free plan. Move to Starter only when the 20-post cap or the 30-day analytics window starts to hurt.
  • Solo LinkedIn creator: Probably not the best fit. You would pay for a multi-network suite to use one network, and the free plan will not let you test it.
  • Freelancer with 3 to 5 client brands: Good value on Starter at $20 a month billed annually, if your clients are spread across networks and you mainly need scheduling and reports.
  • Agency with 10 or more clients that needs approvals and client access: Advanced is the plan to evaluate, from $53 a month billed annually. It is strong on analytics and reporting for Instagram, TikTok and Facebook-heavy accounts.
  • LinkedIn-first B2B team or agency: Worth a look for reporting, but compare it against tools built around LinkedIn. The questions that matter are depth on LinkedIn, how drafts get written in each person's voice, and how engagement is handled.

When Postiv Is the Better Fit

Metricool is built to cover many networks and to report on them. Postiv is built for LinkedIn-first teams and agencies that need content made in each person's own voice, with the workflow around it. Postiv is LinkedIn first, with X as a second channel. Both tools ship an MCP server, so that is not what separates them.

  • Writing in each person's voice. Bob, Postiv's AI content partner, plans the posting week (one idea per slot, tied to content pillars, sources and last week's results) and drafts posts and carousels in each LinkedIn profile's own writing style, using its knowledge base. The knowledge base holds your website, documents, YouTube, Notion and newsletters in one library.
  • Carousels, images and infographics on your brand. They are built in, with an editor, so there is no round trip to Canva.
  • Client workspaces and approvals. Each client has a separate workspace with its own profiles, company pages, brand kit and writing styles. Clients review each post as it will look on LinkedIn through an approval link, with no Postiv account needed. See client workspaces for agencies.
  • Engagement. Every comment on every profile lands in one inbox, and a feed of people you want to reach lets you comment on their posts.
  • LinkedIn analytics. Reach, engagement and followers per post and per profile. See LinkedIn analytics and the analytics features. Metricool's reporting spans more networks and has more report tooling, so if cross-network reporting is the job, that is a point for Metricool.
  • Official API, no automation. Postiv publishes to LinkedIn personal profiles and company pages through LinkedIn's official API. There is no Chrome extension, no browser automation and no automated connection requests or DMs.

Related Pricing Breakdowns

  • Buffer pricing is the closest comparison if you want a simple scheduler with per-channel pricing.
  • Vista Social pricing is useful if you are weighing another multi-network suite with agency features.
  • Planable pricing is worth a read if approvals and client review are the main reason you are shopping.

More Questions

Is Metricool trustworthy and safe?

Metricool is a long-running social media tool, and its pricing page says it is part of the team.blue group and lists large brands as customers. That is the vendor's own description, so treat it as a claim and not as proof. The risk most reviewers point to is reliability, not safety: some public reviews report scheduled posts that did not go live and accounts that needed reconnecting. Test with a real post before you move a client onto it.

Does Metricool's free plan include LinkedIn?

No. Metricool's pricing page lists the Free plan as covering all of a brand's networks except LinkedIn and Twitter/X. The LinkedIn connection starts on the Starter plan. If LinkedIn is the channel you care about, the free plan will not let you test it.

Which Metricool plan includes post approvals?

The post approval system starts on the Advanced plan, from $53 a month billed annually for up to 15 brands. It is not on Free or Starter. Team and client management, role management, customizable report templates and the Metricool API also start on Advanced.

Is Metricool better than Hootsuite?

It depends on what you publish and report on. Metricool's strengths are multi-brand analytics, reporting and a wide set of networks. We have not compared the two tools head to head on this page, and we only checked Metricool's prices, so check Hootsuite's own pricing page for a like-for-like number. Compare on the networks you need, whether you need approvals, and how many brands or clients you manage.

What do reviewers complain about most?

The complaints that come up most in public reviews are reliability ones: posts shown as published that did not appear, and accounts that disconnect and need reauthorizing. Some reviewers also mention strict auto-renewal and the cost of extra brands. We cannot verify individual reviews, so read recent ones and test scheduling on your own accounts.
