How to split an image for X
Start with a wide image
A panorama, a product walkthrough or a wide design works well. For three square slides, a 3000 × 1000 source gives each slide a 1000 × 1000 section.
Choose where the cuts land
Keep the original framing or choose a slide shape. Check every boundary in the preview. Move the crop so a face, a logo or a sentence does not straddle a cut.
Download and post in order
Extract the ZIP and attach the numbered files to one post, from left to right. Add image descriptions and review the order in X before posting.

How do I make a carousel on X (Twitter)?
Choose an image, select two, three or four slides, and check the preview. Download the ZIP, extract the numbered images, and attach them to a single X post in order. Add your caption and a useful image description for each slide before posting.
How many images can I attach to an X post?
X supports up to four photos in one post. This free tool exports two, three or four images so the whole sequence fits in one post.
Can I split an image without cropping it?
Yes. Choose Original and leave zoom at 1× to divide the entire image into equal vertical slices. Other slide shapes crop the source to fit. You can use the position controls to choose which part to keep.
What size should my X carousel images be?
Choose 3:4 or 4:5 for portrait slides, 1:1 for squares, or 16:9 for landscape slides. These are creative presets, not a required X carousel size. Exports are capped at 1200 pixels wide and 1600 pixels tall per slide, and small images are not enlarged.
Will the carousel look exactly like the preview on X?
The preview shows the image files you will download. X can crop and arrange photos differently across devices and views, so the timeline may look different. Review your attachments in the X composer and keep important text away from the cuts.
Is this Twitter image splitter free and private?
Yes. There is no signup, watermark or export fee. Image decoding, splitting and ZIP creation happen in your browser. The tool does not upload your source image to Postiv.
Which image formats can I use?
Open a PNG, JPG or WebP image up to 20 MB and 24 megapixels. Download PNG for graphics or transparency, or JPG for photos and smaller files. JPG exports put transparent areas on a white background. Exported slides must fit X’s 5 MB photo limit.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Choose an image from your phone, adjust the sliders, and download the slides. If working with a ZIP is inconvenient on your phone, use the individual Slide download buttons instead.
