Bob is the AI agent inside Postiv. He works like a content coach and a ghostwriter in one: he plans your week, writes your posts in your voice, builds carousels and infographics, schedules them and learns from the results. You talk to him in plain language.

Where to find Bob

  • Home. The Ask Bob box at the top of Home starts a new chat. Bob's weekly ideas sit below it.
  • Chats. Click New chat in the sidebar to open a blank conversation, or pick an earlier one from Chats. See Work with Bob in chats.
  • Your AI tools. Connect MCP in the sidebar lets you use Postiv from Claude and ChatGPT as well. See Connect AI tools with MCP.
A new chat. Pick a suggestion, write it yourself, or type what you want.

What Bob can do

Write and design

  • Write LinkedIn posts in your voice.
  • Create carousels and infographics, and edit them slide by slide.
  • Generate and edit images for your posts.

Plan

  • Prepare weekly content ideas based on your content pillars and what is trending.
  • Help you define your content pillars (up to five) and keep them up to date.
  • Change your weekly posting goal when you ask.
  • Create briefs for your team, if you are an admin.

Research

  • Search your Knowledge (your sources, documents and past posts) for the facts, numbers and wording only you have.
  • Search the Inspiration library for proven posts and creators.
  • Search the web and check what is trending.
  • Read your analytics: top posts, trends, best days and times.

Publish

  • Schedule and unschedule posts.
  • Switch between your LinkedIn profiles when you ask him to write for someone else.

Remember

  • Save preferences you tell him ("always write in British English", "never use emojis").
  • Drop a link or idea on your Scratchpad for later, or show you what is already there.

What Bob uses to write

Bob does not write from thin air. He draws on:

  • Your Foundation: your voice, audience, brand and content pillars.
  • Your Knowledge: the sources and files you have added.
  • Your results: what your past posts did.
  • The preferences you have asked him to remember.

The better these are filled in, the better Bob's drafts. See Foundation and Knowledge.

Get better results from Bob

  1. Be specific. Give him a topic, an opinion or a story. "Write a post about onboarding" is vague. "Write a post arguing that onboarding calls should be 15 minutes, with the story of the client who ghosted us" is not.
  2. Answer his questions. When your request is open, Bob shows quick multiple choice cards. Tap an answer and he continues.
  3. Tag a file. Type @ in the message box to search your files and point Bob at one document. When you tag a file, Bob uses that file instead of searching all your Knowledge.
  4. Try Interview me. On a new chat, click Interview me. Bob looks at your recent post performance, asks a few short questions one at a time and turns your answers into a draft.
  5. Start a fresh chat for a new topic. Very long chats get less sharp. Postiv will suggest starting a new chat when yours gets long.

What Bob does not do

  • He does not publish anything you have not scheduled.
  • He does not send outreach, DMs or connection requests.
  • He does not create video.
  • He should not invent facts. When he cites a source, check it before you publish.

Common questions

Does Bob remember our earlier chats?

Each chat is its own conversation. What carries over is your Foundation, your Knowledge, your content plan and any preferences you asked Bob to save. If you want something remembered, say so.

Are my chats private?

Chats belong to you and are not shown to your teammates.

Can Bob write for a teammate or a company page?

Yes. Use the profile picker above the message box, labelled Writing for LinkedIn Profile, to choose whose voice Bob should use. See Multiple profiles.

Bob is not answering.
