Manage several LinkedIn profiles

A Postiv workspace can hold more than one LinkedIn voice: your own profile, your company page and the profiles of teammates. Each one keeps its own writing style, pillars, analytics and drafts, so you can switch between them without mixing things up.

The kinds of profile

Each person connects one personal profile. To get several profiles in a workspace, invite teammates and let each connect their own, and add company pages on top.

Connect a profile or add a company page

1. Open Settings and click LinkedIn Accounts.
2. If you have not connected yet, click Connect on the LinkedIn card and approve access. See Connect LinkedIn for the full walkthrough.
3. Under your connected profile, find the Company Pages list and click Find Company Pages. Postiv asks LinkedIn which pages you manage. Once pages are listed, the same button reads Refresh.
4. Switch on the toggle next to each page you want to post from. Postiv confirms with a message saying the page is enabled for posting.

If the card says Reconnect LinkedIn to enable company page management, click Reconnect. Company pages need an extra LinkedIn permission, which you grant when you reconnect. If Postiv says No company pages found, make sure you are an admin of the page on LinkedIn itself.

Assign who looks after a profile

Under each connected profile, Managed by shows the teammate responsible for it. If you have permission, you can pick another member from that list. Agency team members appear with (agency) after their name.

For company pages, click Approvers to choose who must approve posts before they go live. See Approvals.

Remove a company page

Switch the toggle off and confirm Remove page. Postiv warns that any posts queued for that page will fail to publish. You can switch it back on later.

Switch between profiles

You pick a profile in a few places. All of them work the same way: click the profile picture or name and choose from the list.

• In chat: click the round profile picture next to the message box. The list is titled Writing for LinkedIn Profile. Bob writes in that profile's style and uses its pillars. No Styling writes without a profile's voice.
• In Inspiration: the picker titled Writing as sets which profile the feed and your followed creators belong to. See Find inspiration.
• In Drafts: Filter by LinkedIn profile narrows the list. Choose All profiles to see every draft in the workspace.
• In Analytics: the account picker offers each profile and All accounts. See Track your LinkedIn analytics.
• In Foundation: each profile has its own tab under Profile Foundation. See Set up your profile foundation.

What stays separate per profile

• Writing style, content pillars, posting days and custom instructions.
• Analytics and the weekly goal.
• Followed creators in Inspiration.
• Which knowledge sources feed it. Use Target Profiles on a source to choose. See Teach Bob with Knowledge.

What is shared across all profiles: your organization foundation and your Knowledge library.

Tips

• Set up each profile's foundation before you start writing as it. The first draft is much closer to the voice you want.
• Name your company page clearly on LinkedIn. The same name appears in every picker.
• If you write for several people, check the picker before you send a message. It is the quickest way to avoid a post in the wrong voice.

Common questions

Can I connect two personal LinkedIn accounts myself?

No. Each person connects one personal profile. If you try to connect another, Postiv says You already have a LinkedIn account connected. Disconnect it first to connect a different account.

A profile is missing from the picker. Why?

Only connected profiles appear. Open Settings, then LinkedIn Accounts, and check that the profile is there and not marked Connection expired. A company page also has to be switched on under Company Pages.

Why can't I connect LinkedIn at all?

On plans with seats, you need a seat before you can connect. Ask an owner or admin to assign one. If the connection expired, use Reconnect on the LinkedIn card. More help in LinkedIn disconnected.
