Connect your LinkedIn account

Connecting LinkedIn lets Postiv publish your scheduled posts, pull in your analytics and learn from your profile. It takes about a minute and uses LinkedIn's official sign-in. Postiv never asks for your LinkedIn password.

Before you start

• Allow popups for postiv.ai in your browser. During setup, the LinkedIn sign-in opens in a popup window.
• If you joined a team workspace, make sure you have a seat. Without one you will see "You need a seat assigned to connect your LinkedIn account." Ask your workspace owner or admin to assign you one. See Invite members and manage seats.
• You can connect one personal LinkedIn profile per Postiv user. Company pages are added on top of it (see below).

Connect your profile

If you are in the setup flow, click Connect LinkedIn on the connect step and continue from step 4. Otherwise:

1. In the sidebar, click Settings.
2. In the Settings menu, open LinkedIn Accounts.
3. On the LinkedIn card, click Connect. LinkedIn opens and asks you to approve access.
4. Approve access. You land back in Postiv with the message "LinkedIn connected successfully!"
5. Check the card. It now shows Connected as and your name.

What happens after you connect

• Knowledge and Foundation in the sidebar unlock.
• Postiv can publish the posts you schedule to your profile.
• Your analytics start to sync, so Bob can learn from what performs.
• Your profile name and picture appear across Postiv, for example in the profile pickers on Home and in chats.

Manage your connection

Once connected, your LinkedIn card has a few controls.

• Refresh Connection re-syncs your name and picture from LinkedIn.
• Refresh and Reconnect replace Refresh Connection when the connection is about to expire (Refresh) or has expired (Reconnect). LinkedIn connections expire after a while. The card shows Connection expires with the date, and a badge such as "Expires in 7 days" or "Connection expired" when it is time to act. See LinkedIn disconnected.
• Approvers lets you require someone to review posts before they go live. Each company page you enable has its own Approvers button.
• Disconnect removes the profile from Postiv. Existing content and analytics stay, but queued publishing for this profile stops. You can reconnect later.

Add a company page

If you are an admin of a LinkedIn company page, you can publish to it as well.

1. Under your connected profile, find the Company Pages section.
2. Click Find Company Pages.
3. Switch on the toggle next to the page you want to use. Once pages are listed, the Find Company Pages button changes to Refresh. Use it to check LinkedIn for pages you were added to later.

If you see Organization Pages with the message "Reconnect LinkedIn to enable company page management", click Reconnect first so LinkedIn can grant the extra permission. If Postiv finds nothing, make sure you are an admin of the page on LinkedIn.

Common questions

Why are Knowledge and Foundation greyed out in the sidebar?

They need a connected LinkedIn profile. Hover over either one and you will see a hint such as "Connect your LinkedIn first to open Knowledge". Connect your profile and they unlock.

I get "You already have a LinkedIn account connected". What now?

Each Postiv user can connect one personal profile. To use a different LinkedIn account, click Disconnect on the current one first, then connect the new one. To post for several profiles, each person connects their own. See Multiple profiles.

The sign-in window does not open.

In the setup flow, LinkedIn opens in a popup. If nothing appears, your browser blocked it. Allow popups for postiv.ai and try again. In Settings, Connect takes you to LinkedIn in the same tab, so no popup is involved.

Can I take access away later?

Yes. Click Disconnect in Postiv, or revoke Postiv's access from your LinkedIn settings at any time.

Is my account safe?

Postiv uses LinkedIn's official sign-in. It does not scrape LinkedIn and it never asks for your password. More in Security and privacy.
