Track your LinkedIn analytics
See how your posts perform, spot your best content and ask Bob what the numbers mean.

Analytics shows how your LinkedIn posts perform: impressions, engagement, follower growth and your best posts, all in one place. Postiv reads the numbers from LinkedIn's official analytics, so you never upload a file or copy a figure by hand.
Connect LinkedIn analytics
The first time you open Analytics (it sits under Intelligence in the sidebar), you may see a Connect LinkedIn Analytics card.
- Click Connect LinkedIn.
- Approve the extra analytics permissions on LinkedIn. It takes about 30 seconds.
- Postiv imports up to 12 months of your post history. A Bob is backfilling your analytics screen shows while the import runs.
You do not need to keep the tab open. If an account has trouble finishing, Postiv retries it automatically and emails you when everything is ready. If you see Import your LinkedIn analytics history instead, click Start analytics import to begin the import.
Read your dashboard
- Open Analytics in the sidebar.
- Choose whose numbers you want in the account picker. All accounts adds up every connected profile and company page. Pick one to look at it alone.
- Choose a period with 7d, 30d or 90d. For anything else, click Custom, set a From and To date, and click Apply. Reset to presets takes you back.
- Read the row of key numbers: Posts, Impressions, Followers, Eng. rate, Net new followers, Profile visits and EMV. Each one shows the change against the previous period of the same length.
- Scroll down for the Impressions chart, the Engagement rate and Followers charts, and the Performance overview (reactions, comments, reposts, saves and link clicks).
- Check the lists underneath: Top posts (ranked by engagements), Biggest outliers (posts that beat your usual results) and Recent activity.
EMV (estimated media value) is a rough figure Postiv works out from your impressions. Treat it as a way to compare periods, not as money.
When you view All accounts and have more than one profile connected, a Team patterns card also appears. It shows formats that work across several profiles.
Browse every post
- Switch from Overview to Posts above the charts.
- Type in Search posts… to find a post by its words.
- Filter by format with All, Text, Image, Carousel or Video.
- Click a column heading, such as Impr. (impressions) or ER (engagement rate), to sort. Hover over a heading to see its full name. Click again to reverse the order.
The vs avg columns compare a post with that account's usual results. Reach vs avg looks at impressions, Eng. vs avg at engagement, and Format vs avg at other posts in the same format. A value above 1× means the post did better than normal.
Open a single post
Click any post in a list or table to open Post Preview. You see the post as it looks on LinkedIn, plus its metrics: impressions, engagements, reactions, comments, reposts, saves, sends, link clicks, follower gains, profile views and, for videos, plays and watch time.
From the footer you can:
- Click View on LinkedIn to open the live post.
- Click Re-purpose Post to start a chat with Bob that uses this post as the starting point. This is a good way to repeat what worked.
Ask Bob about your numbers
Click Ask Bob at the top right. Bob opens a chat about your analytics for the profile you were viewing. Ask things like "What should I post more of?" or "Which day works best for me?" and Bob can draw a chart right in the conversation.
Tips
- Compare 30 days against the previous 30 first. It is the fairest read of whether things are improving.
- Look at Biggest outliers before Top posts. A post that beat its own average teaches you more than a post from a big account that always does well.
- Use Re-purpose Post on your top outliers to make a fresh take on the same idea.
Common questions
How often do the numbers update?
Analytics sync from LinkedIn about every 6 hours. The line under the title, Statistics last updated on, tells you when the last sync happened.
Why are some numbers missing or only a period total?
LinkedIn does not report every metric as a daily series for every account. In the Performance overview, such a row shows Period total only or Not available instead of a small trend line.
Can I see who my audience is (industry, seniority, location)?
Not on the dashboard. LinkedIn does not share audience demographics for personal profiles with apps like Postiv, so those figures come from your own LinkedIn analytics page.
Will posts I published directly on LinkedIn show up?
Yes. Postiv imports your recent post history from LinkedIn, whether the post started in Postiv or not.
The page is empty or stuck on an import screen. What now?
Read the missing analytics troubleshooting guide. If it still looks off, message us at carolina@postiv.ai or use Support in the app.
