Turn links, PDFs and videos into posts

Bring in an article, a PDF, a YouTube video or a newsletter and let Bob turn it into posts with your angle.

You do not have to start from a blank page. If you already have a webinar, a report, an article or a newsletter, Bob can read it and turn the best parts into LinkedIn posts, carousels or infographics. Which route to use depends on what you have.

For a web page or a LinkedIn post, this is the quickest way.

  1. Click New chat in the sidebar.
  2. Paste the link and tell Bob what to do with it, for example: "Turn this article into a post for founders. Lead with the number in the second paragraph."
  3. Bob reads the page, writes a draft and opens it on the right. Ask for changes in the same chat.

Tell Bob your angle. The best repurposed posts add your own opinion or story to the source instead of summarising it.

Add a PDF, document or YouTube video to your Library

Files and videos live in Knowledge, which is Bob's memory. Once an item is in your Library, Bob can search it whenever you write.

  1. Click Knowledge in the sidebar and stay on Library.
  2. Click Upload item.
  3. Choose the tab that matches what you have:
    • Documents for PDF, DOCX, PPTX or XLSX files. Drop them in or click browse files. You can add up to 10 files at once, 10 MB each.
    • YouTube Video for a video link, a channel link or an @handle. Click Process Video and Postiv imports the transcript.
    • Text Document to paste in notes, a call transcript or an outline.
  4. Click the button at the bottom of the window, for example Upload Documents.
Choose a tab for the kind of material, then upload or paste. The tab row scrolls sideways to show the rest.

Ask Bob to use it

  1. Open a chat and describe the post you want. By default Bob searches your Knowledge first, so you can say "write a post about the pricing section in our latest report".
  2. To point Bob at one specific item, type @ in the message box. The Tag a file list opens. Keep typing at least 3 characters to search inside the content, then pick the file.
  3. Send the message. Bob writes from that item.
Type @ in the message box to choose a file from your Knowledge.

You can also ask for a different format from the same material: "Make a carousel from the five main findings", or "Turn the process on page 3 into an infographic".

Import newsletters automatically

If you want every issue of a newsletter available to Bob, connect it as a source instead of uploading it by hand.

  1. In Knowledge, switch to Sources and click Add Source.
  2. Choose Newsletter.
  3. Copy the Newsletter Forwarding Address and subscribe to the newsletter with it, or forward issues to it.
  4. Optionally add Approved Senders so only email from those addresses or domains is imported.

See Teach Bob with Knowledge for the other source types.

Spotted something while browsing but not ready to write? Drop the link into your Scratchpad. Bob can read what you saved when it plans your week or when you ask what to post about.

Reuse one of your own posts

Open Analytics, click one of your posts, and choose Re-purpose Post. A new chat opens with that post as the starting point, so you can write a fresh take on something that already worked. See Analytics.

Tips

  • Use material you have the right to reuse, such as your own content or sources you credit.
  • One source can feed several posts. Ask for a different angle each time: a story, a lesson, a contrarian take.
  • Put key figures in the chat or the Library. Bob only uses numbers it can see.

Common questions

Where did my upload go?

Open Knowledge, then Library. Your item is listed there. It stays available to Bob in every chat.

Can teammates use what I upload?

Each item in the Library is marked Personal or Shared. Shared items can be used by your workspace. See Teach Bob with Knowledge for how to change that.

Why did a YouTube import fail?

Check that the link is a public video, channel or @handle. If it still fails, try again in a few minutes, or click Support in the sidebar to chat with us.
