Showing up in other people's comments is one of the fastest ways to get noticed on LinkedIn. The Feed tab in Engage gathers the latest posts from profiles you choose, so you can like and comment on them without scrolling through LinkedIn. A daily or weekly goal helps you stay consistent.

Open Engage in the sidebar, then click the Feed tab.

Create your first list

A list is a group of LinkedIn profiles you want to follow closely, such as customers, peers or people you admire.

  1. On the empty Feed, click Create your first list. Otherwise click Edit lists next to the list tabs.
  2. In Manage lists, click New list, type a List name and confirm with the tick.
  3. With the list selected, paste a profile address into the box ("Paste a LinkedIn profile URL (linkedin.com/in/...)") and click Add.
  4. Repeat for everyone you want in the list. The counter shows how many you have, for example "4/30 profiles".
Make up to 5 lists with up to 30 profiles each.

You can have up to 5 lists, with up to 30 profiles in each. Use the pencil icon to rename a list. Click the bin icon twice to delete it ("Click again to confirm delete"). To take someone out of a list, click the bin beside their name.

New profiles take a few minutes to fill in. Until then you will see Fetching posts: "We're pulling in the latest posts from this list. Check back in a few minutes."

Browse the feed

Lists across the top, posts in the middle, your reply tools and goal on the right.
  • The tabs across the top are All plus each of your lists. Pick one to filter.
  • Each card shows the author, headline and how long ago they posted. Click See more for long posts, and Load more at the bottom for older ones.
  • Click Refresh to ask for the newest posts in a list. You will see "Refreshing. New posts usually arrive within 5 to 15 minutes." After a refresh the button counts down, for example "Try again in 12m". "Updated" shows when the list last changed.
  • Posts you have already reacted to or commented on are highlighted so you can see what is left.

Like and comment

  1. Click a post. Its details open on the right.
  2. To react, click Like. Hover the button for more reactions.
  3. To comment, write in the box ("Write a comment..."). Comments can be up to 1,250 characters.
  4. Add extras if you like: Emoji, GIF (search GIPHY), Attach image, or Tag a person or company. Click the Tag button with the author's first name on it to tag them in one click.
  5. Click Send. It shows Sent, and the comment goes onto LinkedIn.

Two checkboxes sit under the box. Also like the post likes it when you comment. Save as saved comment keeps your text for later.

If you have more than one profile or company page, choose who you are acting as next to Commenting as. See Multiple profiles.

Reuse comments

Click Saved comments to open your saved list. Click New to write a reusable comment, or click one to drop it into the box. You can edit or delete saved comments there too.

See your team's comments

If a teammate has already commented on a post, a note called "Comments from your team" appears on the right, so you do not double up.

Set an engagement goal

The widget in the right column, under the comment box, tracks Likes and Comments against a target. It is called Today's objectives or This week's objectives, depending on your period.

  1. Click Set objectives, or the gear icon (Edit objectives) if you already have a goal.
  2. In Engagement objectives, choose a Period: Daily or Weekly.
  3. Pick a preset, or fine-tune with the Likes target and Comments target sliders:
    • Basic: 15 likes and 10 comments.
    • Moderate: 30 likes and 20 comments.
    • Intensive: 30 likes and 30 comments.
  4. Click Save objectives.
Pick a period and a preset, or set your own targets.

Tips

  • Start with one list of 10 to 15 people you genuinely want to talk to. Add more as you build the habit.
  • Write comments that add something: a short story, a question, a different view. "Great post" does little.
  • Save two or three of your own go-to lines as Saved comments, but change them a little each time.

Common questions

Why does the Feed ask me to reconnect LinkedIn?

Liking and commenting need extra LinkedIn permissions. Postiv shows Turn on LinkedIn engagement. Click Connect LinkedIn and approve them. See Connect LinkedIn.

Can the Feed write comments for me?

Not in the Feed. The AI reply suggestions are in the Engage inbox, where you answer comments on your own posts.

Why is my list empty?

New or refreshed lists take a few minutes. Check back, or click Refresh. If you still see No posts yet, the profiles may not have posted recently.
